About Michelle

Welcome to Stricker Photography!

Photography started out as a desire for me, a dream. Over the past 7 years, my desire has turned into a reality- a dream come true! Being 100% self-taught, I started out by only taking pictures for very close friends and family. It was fun and something I enjoyed when I had the time. And believe it or not, I shot my first year with my small digital camera that most people would carry around in their purse.

Eventually, word spread and I will never forget the first call from a stranger asking me to take their pictures. The journey has been an amazing one and I will never take for granted all the stepping stones it took for me to get where I am today.

When things really started taking off in the photography world for me- I was working full time. Time quickly came (and let me add, a lot sooner than I could have ever imagined) that I felt like I had two full time jobs. With requests becoming more and more frequent- I was able to go part time at my primary job and eventually leave that job to focus on the two things I love most in life.... My family and photography. <3

I have to say that this wouldn't have been possible for me without the love and support from my husband, Nate. He's been by my side through it all- and he's even by my side at most of my sessions. I also thank God everyday for giving me the most gorgeous, outgoing, and very smart (sometimes too smart for her own good) eight year old daughter, Kylee and a busy, smiley three year old son, Brenden. I feel so blessed for having such amazing people in my life.

My focus is not just being your photographer or even creating images you love. It's getting to know you and your loved ones and interacting with you as though I have known you for years. Some of my biggest compliments aren't about the finished product itself but the comments such as "My kids fell in love with you," or "I feel like we have been friends for years!" That's what I enjoy about photography the most...knowing I have created an environment that you feel comfortable in and one you can be yourself! And of course- want to come back!

I look forward to meeting you and all the special people in your life.
